A head full

I thought you might like to know a little bit about what I'm doing right now.

Well, right now, I'm blogging, but you know what I mean.  I mean, in the crafty sense, what I'm working on right now.  I normally only show things when they're all finished and done so I thought it might be interesting to try a different approach.

So here's what's on my needles now.

I'm working on a beautiful cardigan, for me myself and I, called Velynda and it's by Bonnie Marie Burns.  I've never made one of her patterns before but I getting on swimmingly with this one.

I wanted to make it to go with a new dress/top that I got for Christmas and I think it's going to work well.

I don't make cardigans or jumpers very often because they take sooo long.  Although I don't know why I say that when I'm quite happy to make blankets, which can take ages, so it doesn't make any sense.  I guess I'm just a walking contradiction.

I've not been minding the slower 'cardigan' pace up to now, but just this week my mind has started to explode with ideas.

The work I'm putting into making a Pretty Crafty Home is kick starting a lot of fresh ideas.  I have a happy event (not mine!) coming later this year to work towards and my notebooks pages are getting filled with scribbled ideas.

Some new yarn has arrived.

And, I'm playing with other colour combinations.

Oh, and there's some things happening with fabric too.

It's times like this when I just can't work fast enough!

  4. Your cardigan is looking lovely. I can't wait to see it finished. I love the yarn colours. What is that yarn like to work with? I've seen it before but was put off by the use of Ks where Cs should be - I'm funny like that! The colours are scrummy though. xx

  10. Thank goodness there's no rule that says we are only allowed to work on one project at a time! Multiple projects on the 'fire' at what keep us going and keep us inspired, in my opinion!

  12. OOOH! There were all kinds of wonderful things in this post! I love it when I am excited about many projects - it sure beats when you are cringing at everything you "have to" get done. :) I need to go pop over to Ravelry and look closer at that sweater of yours.

  13. Ooh I love the look of that bag of yarn. Is it nice to work with? I am on the look out for some yarn to buy with my birthday day money and it's a very important decision, I just don't like working with 100% acrylic but can't afford always to by cotton especially the brands like Debbie Bliss and Rowan so I'd love to hear what you think of the Kool Kotton. I made my first granny heart last night and I love it, thanks so much for the tutorial, it's brilliant and the hearts are soooo cute. Can't wait to make loads more, just need to pick the right yarn! So glad to have found your blog, I love it!

  14. Love the look of your new cardi...I am knitting a jumper because I'm fed up of being cold, but at the rate I'm going I'll miss my deadline...I will wear it in the summer even if it's a scorcher!

Your new cotton looks exciting, great colours!

  15. I never have the patience for an adult sized garment these days - memo, to self, must try harder - so I am in awe of anyone who does.

The Kool cotton is pretty ... I love seeing the colours people pick for things :D
