Give and make

Not so very long ago, I had the great pleasure to take part in a very fun little swap.  It came about after I was contacted by the lovely Himiko.

I've been following Himiko's blog for ages now, if you haven't come across it yet, you should go check it out, its full of all her lovely and inspiring creations:

Source: Himiko's blog, packed with fabulous makes.

After enjoying putting a box of goodies together to send across the waves.  I waited in excited anticipation for my own mystery package to arrive.  Ooh, it looked so pretty when it did arrive too.

After cooing over the outside for a bit, I carefully opened it up and ooh-ed and aah-ed plenty more over the contents.  Look at the pretties...

Gorgeous, right?  Oh, my mind was racing and thinking of projects for those bits and pieces straight away.  That wasn't all though, oh no.  Amazing lady that she is, Himiko also sent me this.

I've been coveting this book for some time now and it was very exciting to now have my little mitts on it's very pages.  It took a nice long time to browse through that with a cup of tea for company I can tell you.  So, Himiko, I hope I did you proud with my goodies, because I'm oh, so very, very happy with mine.

Well, after I'd checked through the book half a dozen times, thinking of all the things I could make, my mind turned back to those teeny tiny hexagons.  Did you see them in the photo up there?  They are so diddy and wee.

Look at those puppies!  They still make me squeak a little now.

I just couldn't resist sewing those up straight away because I had the perfect idea of how to use them.

When I made my Mummy Love Needle Book for Mother's Day, I knew that I would be doing it again before too long.  Not only was it great fun to make, it looked so cute I knew I had to have one too.  What better way to use those pretty, teeny hexagons?

Isn't it just the cutest thing?

All credit must go to the oh so clever and amazing Amy of Nana Company.  These little notebooks are made following her needlebook tutorial.  If you've read this blog for longer than five minutes, you'll probably know what a big fan of hers I am.

So thank you to Himiko and thank you to Amy.  Without you two, I wouldn't ever have made this very adorable little needlebook to treasure.
