Fun in the Sun

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here we've been having a bit of a heatwave.

And what's the only possible thing you can do when it's getting hot, hot, hot?
Have a water fight with your fully clothed father that's what.

Well, that's what my daughter and hubs decided to do anyway!

I managed to keep out of it and pleaded mercy due to holding the camera.  Not sure if that was a wise decision on my part as it looked like a lot of fun!

How are you beating the heat?

(Or cold, depending on where in the world you are!)

  1. Two weeks ago we went from 19°C to 33°C in the space of two days.... and we coped by sweating our heads off! :) And by sitting in the pool, boy how quickly that icy cold water became like a nice warm bath, unbelievable.

But ever since temps here have varied between 24°C and 28°C and funnily enough, now we're totally used to it... it feels nice and comfy. No sweat around. And the pool feels icy cold again.

So I'd say, sweat it out in the pool. The only heat proof solution. Oh and on days like that I go nowhere near wool ;)

  2. Wow you captured that splashing water beautifully, Sandra - and oh what fun they are having! We, of course, are in the middle of winter in Australia and, although conditions don't get tooooo bad, it certainly has been chilly and wet so it's extra layers and then crochet blankets to snuggle up in when lying around relaxing. Have a lovely day, xoJoy

  3. I love that first photo Sandra - a perfect water action shot! Yes we have paddling pool / sprinkler / water pistols out all of the time - "just aim the water in the direction of the plant pots - save me a job!" Sam xx

  4. There's been lots of outside water here too, in swimming pools and splash about parks. It might be a day for the hose pipe in the garden today, it does look lots of fun. CJ xx

  6. Hello
Love the photos - I can't wait for summer !!!
It's cold here in New Zealand - we've had lows of -2 degrees and highs of 10 to 13 during the days - which is fairly cold in the north island BRRRR
Snuggled up on the couch with a hot water bottle & the cat at the moment :o)

  7. Thanks Joy! You know, I don’t think I even realised you were on the other side of the world before. I guess you are having the opposite problems then. Although snuggling in crochet blankets is always nice!

  10. beating the heat? staying indoors in the a/c. and walking swiftly to the car if I have to go somewhere, and turn on the a/c immediatly. it was over 100f with heat index here yesterday.

  11. Looks very similar in our back garden! They start off with water pistols, then graduate to water bottles which send larger streams of water flying, then they just use bowls and leaps into the paddling pool! This is the stuff of memories! Enjoy! Chrissie x
