So that was 2011...

Here we are on the very first page of 2012.  I do love that fresh start feeling.  The exciting potential of the new crisp, blank, white piece of paper, the unwritten diary pages, the untouched snow or the unbroken yarn ball band, about to be drawn, written, trampled through or ripped into!

I'm very excited to start ripping into this fresh untouched new year, but before I do, I've been collecting my 'best bits' of 2011 to share with.  Looking back, it's been a great crafty, productive year....

... I obviously started it feeling a little blue!

But things soon brightened up!

March was flowery...

And April had a holiday!

May is my favourite month of the year but...

...I think June is my favourite 2011 photo month.

I love those fabrics in July.

And summer holiday sewing paid off in September!

October saw a wedding celebration.

A little more Autumnal colour crept into November.

And December, I just love December!!

What a fabulous way to sum up the year, I love it.  So, what was your favourite month?

  5. What a beautiful post! You achieved so much last year...this would make a fantastic calendar for us crafters... maybe you could publish it! I am looking forward to seeing all your 'makes' for 2012 as they come along. Happy New Year! :)x

  6. I found it a little odd actually, looking at your calendar I mean. I liked your mittens for January so looked back to your blog posts for then so I could see maybe where you got the patten from or if it was your own. However, there was only one post and the mittens (and hardly anything else) were not there. Same for February - there were hardly any posts.

So, the calendar may be accurate to represent what you made but it doesn't represent your blog very much. Which was disappointing actually as you appear to have made some lovely things which did not appear here! You don't post very often so it is no wonder most projects are not to be found.

Obviously your prerogative but a bit misleading for a reader. Unless I am just not getting something?

    1. Hi Anonymous,

You make an excellent point! Actually I have nothing to offer in way of explanation except to say I had only just started to attempt regular blogging (apart from the odd pattern post) in January and I guess I hadn't got into the swing of it much by then. Hopefully I got a little better as the year went on. I agree though, it's very irritating to see a project you like and then not find any information on it so that's definitely something I'll be improving for this year.

In the meantime, if anyone has any questions about a project you see here, just leave a comment or email me. I'm happy to answer your queries and then I can update old posts if relevant!

  17. Beautiful projects!

I'm not sure what my favorite month was for 2011, it was a crazy year. I guess September/October time was my favorite as that's when I learned the round ripple pattern, finally!

  19. Hi
I love your blog, it really cheers me up & gives me loads of inspiration. I have also told my sisters about it too.
Is it ok of me to enquire about a pattern?
On your calender for January you have a red tea cosy with buttons on....where can I get that pattern from?
I'm off to my local wool shop now!

    1. Hi Jill,

No problem, the pattern I used was by Suzie Johnson of the Wool Sanctuary:

      Hope that helps!
