A Brief Interlude
It has been brief, this interlude of wonderful bright and sunny weather, but for us it came at a most welcome time. It came for the wedding and it stayed for the weekend.
When I wrote about this coming event, I asked for the sunshine to peak out and many of you sent your hopes that it would too. Maybe that's what made the difference. Whatever it was, I'm so happy it did because it made a very special day very perfect indeed.
The day was wonderful and the wedding was a crafty triumph. Just feast your eyes on the setting. A beautiful marque decked in bunting and twinkly lights, simple picnic tables dressed in pretty runners and petals, hand knitted favor bags containing boozy treats and a truly spectacular table plan. I've never seen such a beautiful or such an original one before.
Everything was hand made by the bride, groom, family and friends. An veritable army of crafters worked to make this day look good and look good it most certainly did. I contributed the table runners and the hearts which hung here and there in the ceremony room and I'm so glad I got to add a little something to making this happy day complete. I think it's safe to say everyone had a lovely time and Little Miss certainly loved every minute of her bridesmaid duties, taking great pleasure in scattering petals before the bride during the ceremony and of course, climbing trees and running around the garden with sticks after the ceremony. Well, it's the least every good bridesmaid should do I'm sure.

As the sun stayed for the weekend I even managed to finally get some work in the garden done. It's been sorely neglected this year and weather is only part to blame. But it felt good to be out weeding and planting in the warmth. The garden does actually seem to prefer this slower start to summer and is looking quite good. I shall try and get out there a little more I think.
Of course, it couldn't last and today it's returned to this...
It's what we've come to expect lately.
But when the interludes come I'm going to be ready to make the most of them.
