Colour Collaborative: March
Bud
Spring is my absolute favourite time of year these days. The sun starts to give off some welcome warmth, the flowers are starting to come to life and colour is popping out around the garden. Coats are tentatively being peeled off and boots put to the back of the wardrobe. Doors are windows can be flung open and the fresh air is welcomed in again.
Summers are lovely, but the heat can be tiring. Winter has it's own stark beauty and autumn I'm coming to appreciate so much more in the last few years, but no other season is bursting at the seams with potential, expectation and promise of things to come like spring.
And a bud is the epitome of that anticipation. It's small and sometimes quite unassuming but it's packed with the burgeoning potential to be glorious. That's why I love spring, it holds all the promise of magical possibilities. An idyllic summer, a magnificent display of flowers, the lush greenery of growing plants. Long warm evenings, picnics, barbeques and walks under shady trees. None of these things may arrive in reality but here and now, in this moment, it is all possible and that is exciting.
Are the very best things in life all ones that are all related to the bud-like potential, the anticipation, the thought of what could be I wonder?
Christmas has the excitement of anticipation. Holidays have the promise of fun and laughter and relaxation. Dressing up for a night out thinking of who you might meet. And maybe, a child.
Who will they grown up to be? How will they shape their lives? What could they achieve?

But, I don't have a picture of a child to show you. I do however have something else that is tightly furled like a bud, has the potential to unwind and grow into something truly spectacular like a bud. That brings out the excitement of possibilities and ideas of things to come....
Yep, it's yarn. Was that totally predictable of me?
Well, maybe, but the analogy works quite well I think!
