Crochet Corner is Open!
This feels like a big day and I have to admit, it's one I'm a little bit nervous about. It's not quite a 'bare your soul' moment, but in a way it feels like one.
I've mentioned to you all before that I've been working on a new crochet only site, hopefully to be full of helpful tips, techniques and general crochet know how. Well, up until now it's all been hidden away from view, no search robots have come by, no links led to it and it's had no visitors, but today that's all about to change. So, yes, there's a bit of trepidation fluttering around inside me today.
In a minute I'll give you the link and I hope you'll want to come and have a look around the place. It's not finished yet, of course, not by a long way. It probably still has a bit of a 'just moved in look' and you might find the odd unpacked box sitting around waiting to be dealt with but overall I'm pleased with how it's shaping up so far.
My aim, as always, is to make things clear and simple to understand and to follow. I hope it'll all make sense when you get there. The front page just has a little welcome message and a brief little guide to help you when looking at the tutorials. There's also a few options you can choose to jump to straight away from that first page, or you can use the menus on the left-hand side from anywhere on the site to browse whatever you are most interested in.
But, enough talking about it, let's get to it...
♥ NOW OPEN ♥
Visit Crochet Corner
Once you've had a little look around, it would be great if you could spare a moment to visit the Crochet Corner 'Suggestion Box' so you can tell me what you think of it all so far, what you'd like to see in future, any aspect of crochet you struggle with and would love more help with...
I'd love to have your feedback.

Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - what an exciting day!
I can't seem to look at the page as the message is saying it is for invited readers only :-(
Perhaps it's just a little early teething problem.
I will keep trying.
Good luck with everything,
Best wishes, B x
Love the idea of crochet corner and looking forward to looking round however like BusyBeeBakes it says it's for invited readers only :0( I will pop back later and have another wee peak! Good luck with the new venture. Ali x
ReplyDeleteOk, I think it should be fixed now if you want to go and have a look…

First congrats from me, too! I always love a good source of basics and stitch tutorials. I especially like the stitch guide. What's next? Maybe a guide to blocking?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful first presentation of your new Crochet Corner! It looks great so far and well done for the way you have organized things with clear photos and helpful accompanying text.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great initiative and I know this corner will have lots of visitors and that there will be something for everyone! I know that I shall be using this lovely place full of useful advice and well-explained tutorials!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Crochet is a closed book to me but website design isn't so I feel qualified to say 'Nice job'. A happy day for crocheters methinks :)
ReplyDeleteI've just been over and had a very good look around Sandra and want to congratulate you on a job well done! The layout is great and everything easily found and understood. You've really done a great job with explaining stitches and ways to neaten up starts and finishes of rounds - I've been crocheting for a couple of years or so and already learned some new tricks from my visit! Thank you, and I wish you all the very best with your new venture. Joy x
ReplyDeletei love it!!! its completely your style has cherryheart written all over it awesome!
ReplyDeleteSandra - I got straight in and it is BRILLIANT! When I came back to crochet I couldn't find anything about crocheting/sewing in ends (I didn't look that hard to be fair) and thought it probably was common sense. But there it was, right there on the opening page. Simple but absolutely the stuff that is needed, especially for people new, or returning to crochet. It looks like you have put a lot of hard work into it. I'm just setting up a blog and it is taking me ages......you are one dedicated lady. It's a resource that I will definitely be using. Thank you x
ReplyDeleteAll looks lovely Sandra,

Just had to say a big,big thanks for sharing such a wonderful corner. It is friendly, useful, so so helpful and just a pleasure to look through and try different ideas and methods. It must have taken so much effort to put all his together as it is truly an inspirational corner to come and sit in and wander through when an idea is needed.
ReplyDeleteI go to a knit and natter in my local Hobbycraft and we get so many newbies to crochet walking past I now know the best place for them to start and will advise them to take a peek at your corner as it has everything they need and more to get started. Thanks again. Jules
I've just been to have a nosy - it's absolutely brilliant! No problems my end regarding finding or browsing it. I love what I've seen so far. Do I remember you saying you were going to tell us how to make a granny square without it twisting? I would love to know how to do that, mine always have a tilt to them (which I resolve with blocking) and I'd love to know hook one without the corners. I will be forever indebted!! x
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, wow the day has finally arrived! We are so proud of you and love you so much for being such a sharing soul! My best wishes for your continued success...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Beth P
Best of luck with it. I can see you've already put in so much work to get it up and running.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Gail
Thank you Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures on the stitch tutorials are so lovely and clear.

ReplyDeleteWow! Where do you find the time? What a fantastic work you've done with your crochet corner. I am blown away... Well done girl. It looks great. You have all the right in the world to have a fluttering butterfly in your belly. Big hugs and kisses!

Ha ha, sorry no there’ll be no tutorials on how to help you find time in the day to crochet as well as do all the many other things us Mummies need to do! If only I had the answers to those questions… ;)
ReplyDeleteSandra x
Thanks so much lovely Annie, I’ll look forward to reading your suggestions! :)
ReplyDeleteSandra x
That’s great news Joy, so glad you’re already finding it useful and thanks so much for your fantastic positive comments!
ReplyDeleteSandra x
Thanks so much Ali! I was exactly the same as a beginner, I was always wondering exactly how a new colour was started and exactly how an end was woven in. I needed the real fine detail! Anyway, I’m so glad you like what I’ve got so far and good luck with your own blog too, you’re right these things are quite a bit of work. Don’t forget to come and share your blog link one you’re up and running!
