I decided I'd make up a chart for my Forget Me Not Dots blanket today. Why? What on earth was I thinking?
The square wasn't too bad but now I've started the border and I'm wondering if I've bitten off more than I can chew. It's not even like a have any charting software or anything! What's that thing about "the schemes o mice an' men" again? It's Burn's night tonight too isn't it? Maybe that's why I can't help feeling like I'm ganging agley!
Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound I guess... wish me luck 😉

Oh I do wish you luck because I really want this pattern - You can do it,....
ReplyDeleteI too am sending you "good vibes"xxxxxx I am SO waiting to do this blanket. I have the wool ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI get a kick out of the terms my UK crochet friends use. I'm sure I use American terms that are just as mysterious sometimes. I'm not sure what "Burn's night" is or "ganging agley" but I do know that blanket is gorgeous and your patterns are always so well done. I know this one will be just as wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, yes sorry for the slightly obscure reference (internally speaking!), it's a Scottish thing. Robert Burns was a Scottish poet who is celebrated on Burn's Night in January. He wrote about the plans of mice and men often 'going wrong', or 'gang agley' as he put it!

I would love the pattern for this. Good luck xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you can manage it, I can't wait to start!
ReplyDeleteDitto, Sandra! Thank you for all your beautiful blogs and patterns, and tutorials.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blanket. Me? I know how to make granny squares, that's about it. Truly wish you luck with this pattern and look forward to trying it. :)
ReplyDeleteMy squares are already building up ... can't wait for the border, whether words or chart!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, I don't know how easy it is to use but there's this free open source software that some designers use to make charts. It's called inkscape. Here's a link to the website:

Amerz (on Ravelry) is a pattern/chart editor. Here's a link to her blog about using inkscape: http://crochetamerz.blogspot.com/2017/05/stitch-diagrams.html?m=1
Maybe this will help.
Really excited to get your pattern!
Robin

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm really struggling with round 2 of the border, I've tried it several times but I really don't understand the repeats. If you could help me I'd be very grateful. I love the pattern btw and the border is gorgeous
